Welcome to Key West! Here is the story of our trip!
Monday June 14th 3:30AM CST - We woke early for our early flight departure, threw everything in the van and headed for the airport, no time for breakfast. It was pouring rain.
4:30AM CST - We arrived at Fine Airport Parking and dropped off the van, hit the shuttle bus and were wisked away to our departure gate. We checked our luggage and quickly made it through security.
5:30AM CST - Airport boarding and departure and off we went headed staright for Atlanta, Georgia.
???? CST/EST - AHH WHAT TIME ZONE ARE WE IN! We sat down to breakfast thinking we had all the time in the world and then realized we forgot to change our watches! GET ON THE PLANE!
9:55AM EST - We departed from Atlanta headed straight for Key West! WooHoo!
11:30AM EST (OK, enough with the time zone stuff) - We landed (well in loose terms) MORE LIKE SLAMMED into Key West airport and FULL ON Brakes, this plane was too dang big for the runway!
Disembarked from our plane and into the sweltering heat - woo (wipes sweat from forehead).
Welcome to Key West!
Grabbed our rental car - THANK YOU TROY! and headed for the hotel:
Steal my photos from here and you'll regret it. I mean it. :)
[Posts here to be read in a silly tone, lighten up folks!]Saw some cool fish (Tarpon) in the water along the pier and then a nurse shark - which immediately prompted some in our party to immediately dismiss all ideas of entering the water. Too hot for me not to want to get in the water, the sharks could just get outta my way.
Later we went down Duval street. By the way Duval street is interesting and nuts all at the same time. No photos of Duval at the moment, sorry.
Then we headed for dinner after perusing some of the local shops for wares. We hit a restaurant with AC and had to leave due to a bad cook, oh well across the street to THE HARD ROCK CAFE!
Grabbed a burger and non-alcoholic drink and we were ready for bed - BACK TO THE HOTEL!
I am not sure how many photos I can put on each post so I will end here and make a new post for Tuesday!
